My June 7th couple contacted me last year regarding their upcoming wedding and then life got in the way and I didn’t hear back from them. I thought that I had lost them forever…until I got a last minute e-mail from Isabelle (the Bride) the Saturday before their scheduled nuptials. They had changed their mind from indulging in a Mexican getaway to having a quaint little wedding in downtown St. Augustine. Isabelle just knew that I wouldn’t be available with a mere one weeks notice but it just so happened that I had a June 7th cancellation and I was able to photograph their wedding.
I was so happy to be a part of this beautiful celebration! This was the smallest wedding that I have ever photographed…which was a very welcomed change of pace : ) There were 9 guests in total. I had so much time to “focus on the Bride.” I am so happy with the images from this wedding. There are times that I just say to myself, “Why doesn’t my work look as good as other photographers?” Maybe it is just a self critique…I don’t know. What I do know is that I love the pictures from this wedding! It was so relaxed and simple but yet so elegant and beautiful!
The couple had invited 9 of their closest friends to share in the exchanging of their vows at the St. Agustin Inn Bed and Breakfast. All of the friends stayed at the B&B as well. Immediately following the ceremony the couple had a cake cutting and toast and then they danced their first dance as husband and wife to Frank Sinatra. There was actually a parade going on in the streets of downtown and so it was quite a celebration between the two festivities. I wrapped up at 8:00pm and the couple and their guests headed off to a romantic dinner in the old city. Tony (the Groom) was kind enough to invite me to join them for dinner…I respectfully declined because I had 2 little boys to get home too…well 3 if you count my husband…yeah, definitely 3! Believe it or not, when I arrived home all of the little monsters (and the big one) were fast asleep…I should have taken Tony up on his offer!
Tony and Isabelle…I can’t thank you guys enough for coming back to me after all of those months had passed. I was so happy to hear from you and I am grateful that I had the availability and opportunity to take part in capturing the memories of your beautiful day! You two make a stunning couple!
