My May 31st bride and groom is yet another couple to brag about! These two people are deservingly celebrated as two in a million! I was so impressed with my April 26th bride (see her Blog below) and her story of purity and then came Shannon and Michaels story…all I can say is…WOW! These two people vowed to stay true and pure until they found the right person to complete their lives. Many of us start out with those virtuous intentions but somehow we fall short along the way. Well these two remained true to themselves as well as each other until they took their vows on May 31, 2008. This act, my friends, is a true miracle in this day and time. Amazing enough to be considered one in a million but they are truly two in a million! Mega kudos to you Shannon and Michael!
Now, on to their day. We started out at Grace Lutheran church where the bridal party prepped for the big day. This was a large bridal party…seventeen in all. Even considering the number of participants everyone was dressed and ready to go on time! The happy couple exchanged their vows in a beautiful ceremony and then we headed over to Ocean Breeze for their fantastic reception. The room was filled with beautiful votives, hot pink colors, a stunning polka dot cake (pink of course) and lots of love.
We headed down to the beach for our photo session and the bride and groom took a few minutes to walk hand in hand down the beach and reflect on what had already taken place that day and what was still to come. After we finished up we headed back to join the guests for a wonderful roast beef and chicken dinner…the chicken was off the chain…if I do say so myself : ) The happy couple danced and enjoyed every minute of their special day.
I was looking forward to the cake cutting because I knew what the intention of the Bride and Groom was and I couldn’t wait to get it on “film.” Shannon had previously spoken to me about the cake smashing…the people who were on the receiving end…the best man and matron of honor! I knew how cute it would be but at the last minute the couple decided to “play nice.” I can’t blame them…the evening was so beautiful and they didn’t want to create any upsets. Lucky for those two! : ) I have a sneaking suspicion that they had a feeling it was coming and they stood at a “safe distance”… smart thinking guys!
A huge thanks to Shannon and Michael for including me in your memorable day. I have an immense amount of respect for the two of you and I know that the Lord will continue to bless you all the days of your life! Here’s to an amazing life together!
