We were sitting at my sisters dinner table eating supper when I got up to fix a glass of tea … my tea because her tea is unsweet … eww! I glanced at the refrigerator door and laughed out loud at what I saw…I laughed REALLY LOUD!!! Who is this in this picture and why is it hanging on her fridge for all the world to see? I picked it up for closer inspection before I stuck my foot in my mouth about the people in the photograph. When I figured out who it was I laughed even harder. And louder. OMGosh! It’s Mike (my brother-in-law) in this hideous photo. WHY? Why would he and Little Dave take this picture? Together? In those clothes? I knew that there had to be a good story behind this! I asked my sister to please share the details…
Mike and Little Dave were…well…for lack of a better explanation…drunk. They went into Wal-Mart for who knows what and ended up deciding to have their picture made. In those clothes…which they actually purchased just moments before, strictly for the purpose of having this ridiculous photograph taken. Please note the yellow shades trimming Little Dave’s festive sweater and pink shirt. The tags still on his collar. His spit in the hand slicked to the side hair do and the glazed over stare, camera right, into never never land. Isn’t the sparkling winter backdrop a nice addition to the image as well? And then there’s Mike with his evil twin stare, moose adorned sweater and the toupee. As if a toupee isn’t horrific enough in its own state…Mike gave this one an extra special comb over and sculpted sideburns.
Now, when you look at this you may think that I have completely lost my mind for Blogging about this retarded photo. But I have to tell you that it makes me laugh!!! Everyday. At least a couple of times a day. Why? Well, I wish that you all knew Mike. Really, I do! He is incredibly intelligent, (seriously, he is) funny, cool and quirky. And this is so something that he would do…on a whim…with money that could have been spent on something important. But consider this aspect of the image…what do you think the photographer who took this image was thinking? THAT makes me laugh!!! Did the poor person think that they were serious? Because I can guarantee you that they totally acted dead serious about it…start to finish. That poor soul was dying inside too…I am sure of it. Probably thinking something along the lines of… “these two pitiful boys trying to do something nice for their Momma for Christmas. Let me hold it together and I will bust out in a laughing spree the moment that they step away from my store.” They are not brothers by the way.
The entire process that led to this final product makes me laugh…hard! I can just hear the conversation between the two of them as they get this brilliant idea in the first place. And then I can envision them trying to keep it together without dying in hysteria as they pick out the outfits, get their hair ready, approach the photographer and pose for the final shot. Funny! It is just downright funny to me. And to top it all off…they bought the largest package available! They passed them out to all of the local bars around town where they are both well known and highly respected tattoo artists. I keep this photo on my desk…at eye level. Even when I am having a bad day I just look at it and it makes me LAUGH!!!
That’s hilarious. Dave even still has the tag on his shirt or glasses (on his neckline)…lol
Oh my goodness, I am ROLLING over here!! I have tears in my eyes!! OH goodness, thanks for the laugh Dawn and boys!! :)
