When it comes time to saying our blessing before we eat supper the kids always shriek at the thought of their Papa leading the blessing. Why? Well, because he finds it necessary to not only bless the food that we are about to eat but every single relative (living and dead), our cousins cousins cousin and their families, the hungry and needy and of course all of our troops and their crews and their families family and their kids kids…you get the picture! ;-) His blessings take about 15 minutes and then supper is cold! By the time we all holler AMEN! the kids plates are clean and they are already back to playing their games. Okay…so I am exaggerating a little bit…about the kids…but NOT about the blessing.
I met with The Gentry family for my very last session of 2009! They came to me as a referral from another sweet client Alana. I always love to work with friends of friends because they already know what to expect and are usually a bit more comfortable in front of my camera. And can I just highlight Adrianna for a moment without hurting the rest of the family’s feelings? This little girl was a complete joy to work with! Her smile is so sweet and warm and her attitude was that of an angel! She was up for anything and I think that she truly enjoyed our little “mini-session” of just her while the family was getting changed out of their Christmas gear into their proud Red, Whites and Blues.
If you are thinking that I lost my train of thought from the opening of this Blog ’till now….nope…I have a point about my Dad’s blessings. When it comes to gentleman like Mr. Gentry it makes me appreciate my Dad’s prayers…the parts that I hear before I doze off and then recover in time to holler AMEN! It’s people like him, Mr. Gentry, that make this country the most wonderful place to reside in the world! As he prepares to depart from his family for an extended period of time…it makes life challenging for his wife and kids. But they all make sacrifices on our behalves. And for that…I SALUTE YOU Gentry family!!! I appreciate your service to our great nation and I support you! I’ll even try to stay awake over our Christmas blessing while my Dad prays for you. ;-)
You are a precious family and I wish you safety, security and prosperity in the new year. Many, many thanks for all that you do!
