I hope that you all had a safe and happy New Year’s Eve celebration! My family and I always go over to our sweet neighbor’s house to ring in the New Year. We fill our bellies full of yummy food and plenty of steamed oysters! The kids look forward to the grand display of fireworks and we relish in the blessing of togetherness. When it’s time to go…we always laugh because they say “Now y’all be careful. Y’all have a long drive home.” It’s my favorite drive home! It’s literally right across the street. : ) These folks are like family to us and our appreciation for the bond that we share with them is infinite! They are wonderful to Jeff and me and even better to our children. My son will tell you emphatically that they are our family. Period.
Last year I posted a “Did, Did Not” list and although I did accomplish a great deal in 2009…I am not going to admit all of my “did nots” that went without even a second thougtht. ;-) Instead, I am going to start fresh for 2010. That’s what New Year’s Resolutions are all about, right? Starting over. On second thought, I’m not making resolutions this year (those seem permanent and unachievable at times) instead I am creating a simple list of intentions.
In 2010 I intend to do the following 10 things… Whew! That was a lot of “tens.” Say that ten times. ;-)
Go to bed at least 2 nights a week before midnight.
Try not to let the fact that my floors no longer stay bleach clean on a daily basis drive me absolutely bezzerk!
Purchase at a least one new outfit that is not on the clearance rack.
Find myself relaxing on the beaches of Jamaica for my ten year anniversary.
Embrace the successes and opportunities that present themselves to me and stop waste time questioning whether or not I deserve them.
Eat less candy…my teeth are begging me. (As I sit here chewing a tootsie roll)
Pay more attention to my health and start working out again. That six pack made me smile…big! But more importantly it made me “healthier.”
Try to not to unfold and refold already folded laundry just because it’s not “my way.”
Retire 1/3 of the clothing that hangs in my closet…anyone need some clothes?
Indulge in a fancy dinner (without a coupon) at Ruth Chris Steak House.
Well said!!!
Good 10, Dawn! I need to do a few, if not most, of these myself!!! :)
Happy New Year!!
