I have these crazy ideas jog through my mind around 2:00 am while I am trying to turn my brain off for the day! Recently the idea of speed dating occurred to me as a possibility for a SMUG meeting theme. I loved the idea but struggled with exactly how I would set it up. I drew out countless scenarios of 2-person stations…much like actual speed dating…but I just couldn’t work out the logistics. In the end I decided to have an open circle forum with all members seated in a circle facing each other. One of my main goals as JAX SMUG leader is to allow each and every member an equal voice. This is not always easy when you have such a wide variety of experience levels, interests and goals but those things aside we all have something to contribute to others in our own unique way.

Speed Dating at JAX SMUG
May 27, 2010Mock Studio
May 25, 2010I have always resisted “studio” settings because my comfort zone is outdoors. I know what I want to produce when I am outside and exactly how to accomplish it…most of the time. Take me inside and my nerves get a bit rattled. I know that I can pull it off but it is a much more difficult concept for me than natural lighting. I know pro studio photographers feel the exact opposite! Isn’t it funny how we all develop our own little preferences?
{Walk The Shot} Sheila’s Perspective
May 24, 2010It seems crazy that a week has already come and gone since Sheila and I {Walked The Shot}. I know that a 24 hour time period is the exact same as it has always been but I tell ya…it sure does feel like we get cheated of a few hours somehow or another this day and time. Every time I turn around it is Friday again. This weekend FLEW by because it was a celebration of my baby boys birthday, my birthday and my Nanny’s birthday (actually hers is today). We had a beautiful, relaxing weekend by the pool.
So…It’s My Birthday!
May 20, 2010And the best part is I didn’t age a bit! No really, I didn’t. ;-) My son turned a year older yesterday but me…the day just whispered to me…”I’m not gonna count this one against you.” I am so glad because I needed to catch a little break this week and I couldn’t imagine a better one! LOL!
