We all have those amazing weekends when we wish we could stop father time…this was one of those weekends for me. Saturday we packed a picnic lunch and headed to Summer Waves for the last day of the season and it was perfect! Few lines. Gorgeous weather. Lazy River. All together glorious! The kids had an absolute blast. It reminded me of the days of summer in my own childhood when me and my cousins spent our weekends at Stricklands Lake…oh how I miss that place.
Sunday we packed up and headed to St. Augustine for the day. So close to home but yet such a sense of a mini getaway. In fact, when I was shooting Lauren’s Senior Session last weekend the city was calling me for a visit! Come walk my streets and take in my beauty. Have your self a fresh prepared waffle cone and of course a pecan caramel apple. Admire my history and be thankful that I provide such an incredible backdrop for your photography business. Seriously, I heard it in my head. So I did just that. I even stopped at one point and told the boys “Just stand here and be quiet for one moment and immerse yourself in the beauty of this day, just the four of us, right here, right now with the sun shining on us and the wind blowing in our hair. Be grateful and take it all in.” They did for about 2 seconds and then they were ready to go. ;-) It was the thought that counted, right?
We had lunch in a private tiki hut at The Conch House. A little piece of heaven. Seriously. If you have never been…you must go! There is nothing quite like sitting up there in your own private little oasis overlooking the intercoastal while the sea breeze blows through your hair and the sounds of reggae put you in a peaceful trance. Ah. It truly is amazing! That said, the food unfortunately doesn’t live up to the atmosphere. What a shame! The worst part is it hasn’t improved in years. But, you can not beat that view and the feeling that comes along with it. So, you deal with the lack luster culinary experience in exchange for the most incredible seat in St. Augustine! It was perfection yesterday! This was one of those weekends that I wished more than once that time could stand still. All was well in the world for 48 hours.
Happy Monday y’all! These were all taken with a little P&S.

Loved, loved, loved this blog and your pictures! Saint Augustine is an amazing place, so much beauty and history here. :)
And I agree with you, Conch House truly needs to raise their food standards back up, its defiantly been lacking for some time now!
Thank you for sharing your weekend with us! ?
