I saw a post on Facebook that made the sympathetic Mom in me rise to the surface. Ivy (my cousin) had taken her daughter Ryan to have her pictures made at a local “studio” and she was beyond disappointed with the result. In fact, she posted that she didn’t even feel comfortable mailing out her Christmas cards with those pictures inside. I felt terrible for her so I squeezed in a last minute session to capture the true beauty that resides in this sweet little girl.
From the time she was small Ryan has been a child of very few words. It’s not that she isn’t smart or intuitive. In fact, she is quite studious. It’s just that she chooses to talk less, much less, than most of the motor mouths in this family. It drives my oldest son, Austin, absolutely bezzerk that Ryan won’t speak to him. He would actually corner her and say “just say something, anything” to her and she would calmly and steadfastly remain silent. Austin gets completely bent out of shape and in the end it becomes a game to Ryan just because she sees the sheer determination Austin has to make her have a conversation with him yet she continues to stay as quiet as a mouse. It’s hilarious, really.
When Ryan said that those pictures didn’t even look like her I wanted to make sure to take some photos that made her proud. She has gorgeous eyes and a smile that reminds me of her Momma when we were young…ahem…younger. Ivy and Ryan, I hope that these images put smiles on your faces and warmth in your hearts. I know that everyone was happy to see the bright and joyful little girl that greeted them inside their 2010 Christmas cards.
Absolutely Beautiful!!!!! I am sure she was not disappointed!
