Back in February I met with Derek and Rose on a Saturday afternoon to shoot their engagement portraits. The clouds rolled in on us and the chill in the air was dominant. Saturday’s wedding weather was polar opposite. It was an exquisite day. Flawless blue skies. Perfect Spring breeze. Sun rays beaming in between the old oaks at Hidden Hills. It was indeed the dream wedding day!
Rose was surrounded by her team of fresh spirited Bridesmaids and she looked amazing! A glowing Bride from the inside out. She was calm and ready. This was the day she had envisioned for so long. And Derek, he wasn’t nervous. Instead he was joking around with his Groomsmen and in between asking me questions about his Bride to be and how she looked. It’s those questions that make a girls heart go pitter patter. I assured him that he would not be disappointed. Rose was sure to take his breath away.
As Derek was lead, eyes closed, towards Rose for their first look he had a permanent smile that clearly displayed his excitement. It was adorable how he reached out to touch her just missing her by an arms length. The wait was over. He opened his eyes and there she was in all her glory. They embraced and the moment was sheer perfection! Have I mentioned how much I love a first look?
As family and friends gathered, Rose made her way down the staircase and walked the path to becoming Mrs. Derek Porter. They exchanged vows and a few laughs at the alter and soon the celebration was underway! This was not only a beautiful wedding but it was a cool wedding. The Bridal party was so light hearted, fun and supportive of their friends on their special day. Not to mention…totally good looking! What a cast.
Derek and Rose are headed off on a honeymoon cruise to the tropics. I wish you both the most fabulous week of your lives! You are a precious couple and it was truly my honor to document the love that you share. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your story. XOXO~Dawn
