I got a call from a Christina to tell me that we needed to book a session right away…they had received some amazing news in a short period of time. Her best friend Tara and her husband Sam had recently been blessed to adopt the perfect baby boy. I cleared my calendar and we spent the day catching up, laughing, talking and of course photographing the newest addition to the Magdalein family. He couldn’t have been more perfect! Even big sister Sophia agreed that Judah was indeed a delightful baby.

November 10, 2011I can always count on Megan and Trace for a few good laughs. Then you throw Heather (Megan’s sister) in the mix and it’s all over with! I wish that y’all could have seen Heather and me trying to get Gunnar and Gage’s attention to make these photographs happen. I promise you that it was a sight for sore eyes. The links that we went too were hilarious. However, if someone had been video taping up and we had to watch ourselves back on film it might not be so funny. Nonetheless, we got the shots and that’s what matters.

October 29, 2011Fall season is always the busiest for family portraits. This Fall has been no exception. Who doesn’t like to send out portraits at Christmas time? It’s one of the greatest ways to share our families with the ones we love.
When I met up with the Cummings Family I knew there would be guys with guns. ;-) These weren’t just any guns though…they were the boys grandfathers guns. Prize possessions. These boys love to hunt! It’s just one of those things in the South that bonds all men. It’s the way we were all raised. Us women know that come hunting season we won’t see much of any of our boys. It’s a religion. A passion. An obsession. They live it. Breathe it. Eat it. Sleep it. There’s no getting around southern boys and their love for the woods. Lucky for Mistie she has a precious daughter to keep her company while the boys are away.

October 24, 2011Some of my favorite memories as a young girl were made at Stricklands with all of my extended family. Summers filled with all day picnics overflowing with your typical southern comfort foods. Getting water logged from swimming in the lake all day was typical. My closest cousin and I would always float around daydreaming about how much fun our own kids would have one day coming to Stricklands on summer break. I always knew that I would have fun little excursions with my children but I often wondered where we would go? Who would be with us? I envisioned lots of big and boisterous laughter! And creating unique memories that my children would talk about when they were adults.
