I have always loved to host parties and events. I thrive on the stress of expectation and preparation. It’s like I am forever in a race against myself and no matter how early I start I am always pressed for time right up to through the very last second. Last night was no different. I finished just in the nick of time! As guests began to arrive I greeted them and then quicky moved on to preparing the buffett for supper. As I called everyone to come and fix a plate I said to myself as well as out loud “I just know something is missing.” Unfortunately I never could never put my finger on what was left out…that was until this afternoon as we packed the cooler to head to the beach. It dawned on me…THE BAKED BEANS! Sure ’nuff…that was what I was missing last night. All four pounds were still in the oven. Prepared but never served. Oh well. At least I remembered to turn the oven off.

July 3, 2010So…It’s My Birthday!
May 20, 2010And the best part is I didn’t age a bit! No really, I didn’t. ;-) My son turned a year older yesterday but me…the day just whispered to me…”I’m not gonna count this one against you.” I am so glad because I needed to catch a little break this week and I couldn’t imagine a better one! LOL!
Non Traditional Easter
April 6, 2010I am a fairly traditional kind of gal. You can pretty much predict my most of my routines. I don’t color much outside of the lines. When it comes to holidays I usually host them here at my home. I do love to entertain so it is kinda just what everybody expects…to come here for the holidays, I mean. So yesterday at the last minute I made a spontaneous decision to forgo my traditional Easter dinner…I know I am too wild to be controlled! LOL. : ) But all of us decided that it was far too gorgeous outside not to hit the beach. So, that is exactly what we did!
My Absolute Best Valentine’s Ever
February 15, 2010I tweeted yesterday that my boys had sent me on a scavenger hunt here at the house. My oldest held my hand and led me in the right direction from note to note to make sure that I didn’t miss anything. His eyes lit up like infinite rays of sunshine. Smiles as wide as the sky. “We worked really hard on this Mom. It took a lot of effort.”
