Sometimes people swoop into our lives on a whim and in the same swift fashion that they arrived they quickly disappear. Fortunately this was not the case with The Deacons. Our business relationship has evolved into quite a lovely friendship over the past several years. I am so proud of this family as I have had the honor of witnessing their engagement, their marriage and the expansion of their precious family. I have also been blessed to document some other momentous occasions for this family as well. One of the most inspiring being Mallory's grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. Their story still warms my heart. This year as the family said goodbye one final time to their personal hero, Mr. Walter Porter I was blessed to document that moment fro them as well.

It's always great to get a referral but it's even more heart warming to welcome back repeat clients. I first met Jeremy and Jennifer when I photographed their gorgeous 2009 wedding. This Fall I got to meet their newest addition...cute little Colt. He is quite the ham. He was so full of happy smiles. The only challenge was...he is as quick as a lightning bolt! This little fella can launch forward and backward quicker than you can "say cheese." ;-) But I honestly don't think he ever quit smiling from the time that I said hello to him until the time they left. He is a super sweet little guy!

I can always count on Megan and Trace for a few good laughs. Then you throw Heather (Megan's sister) in the mix and it's all over with! I wish that y'all could have seen Heather and me trying to get Gunnar and Gage's attention to make these photographs happen. I promise you that it was a sight for sore eyes. The links that we went too were hilarious. However, if someone had been video taping up and we had to watch ourselves back on film it might not be so funny. Nonetheless, we got the shots and that's what matters.

I saw a post on Facebook that made the sympathetic Mom in me rise to the surface. Ivy (my cousin) had taken her daughter Ryan to have her pictures made at a local "studio" and she was beyond disappointed with the result. In fact, she posted that she didn't even feel comfortable mailing out her Christmas cards with those pictures inside. I felt terrible for her so I squeezed in a last minute session to capture the true beauty that resides in this sweet little girl.

This group would not be what it is without two key factors...the most amazing client focused company that I know, SmugMug and my ever awesome members!!! From the bottom of my heart...I thank you both!

I have always loved to host parties and events. I thrive on the stress of expectation and preparation. It's like I am forever in a race against myself and no matter how early I start I am always pressed for time right up to through the very last second. Last night was no different. I finished just in the nick of time! As guests began to arrive I greeted them and then quicky moved on to preparing the buffett for supper. As I called everyone to come and fix a plate I said to myself as well as out loud "I just know something is missing." Unfortunately I never could never put my finger on what was left out...that was until this afternoon as we packed the cooler to head to the beach. It dawned on me...THE BAKED BEANS! Sure 'nuff...that was what I was missing last night. All four pounds were still in the oven. Prepared but never served. Oh well. At least I remembered to turn the oven off.

I am a fairly traditional kind of gal. You can pretty much predict my most of my routines. I don't color much outside of the lines. When it comes to holidays I usually host them here at my home. I do love to entertain so it is kinda just what everybody expects...to come here for the holidays, I mean. So yesterday at the last minute I made a spontaneous decision to forgo my traditional Easter dinner...I know I am too wild to be controlled! LOL. : ) But all of us decided that it was far too gorgeous outside not to hit the beach. So, that is exactly what we did!
