All little girls fantasize about their wedding day but rarely does it happen exactly as envisioned. There are so many factors that culminate into that final wedding day countdown and then there’s no turning back. The hours pass as minutes and before you can blink it has all come and gone. Yet, there are those rare weddings that seem to play out flawlessly and The Hartley Wedding was exactly that…flawless!! When I tell you that every detail of this wedding was magnificent I feel as though I am not even giving it it’s due credit. From start to finish this wedding was absolutely, breathtakingly brilliant.

October 24, 2011Some of my favorite memories as a young girl were made at Stricklands with all of my extended family. Summers filled with all day picnics overflowing with your typical southern comfort foods. Getting water logged from swimming in the lake all day was typical. My closest cousin and I would always float around daydreaming about how much fun our own kids would have one day coming to Stricklands on summer break. I always knew that I would have fun little excursions with my children but I often wondered where we would go? Who would be with us? I envisioned lots of big and boisterous laughter! And creating unique memories that my children would talk about when they were adults.

October 17, 2011Most days that I resign myself to the notion that there are no little girls in my future…and I’m okay with that. But then there are those days when a little princess like Miss Charlotte sits in front of my camera and I can’t help but long for one of my own. Ah, she is as sweet as my Nanny’s homemade pumpkin pie. Perfection at it’s finest. With her itty bitty baby features and that unmistakable newborn intonation she captured my heart in an instant!

July 25, 2011Remember as a child your parents always telling you “time flies.” Yet it always felt like the next Christmas was light years away. Once you have kids of your own many of those tales that your parents used to tell you all of the sudden make perfect sense! Time is a treasured gift but also a losing battle for parents. When we first have babies we can’t wait for their next big step…”Oh, I can’t wait until he coos. I’m so excited to see him roll over. OMGoodness! He’s walking now and eating solid foods.” All of the sudden baby #2 arrives and we long to freeze the hands of time. “Oh, if he could just stay this little forever.”
