Why are so many couples are opting to add a Photobooth to their wedding package? Well, it's pretty self explanatory once you see the images from the Brandt Wedding below. Including a Photobooth adds a new twist to the experience that your wedding guests have. During the transition times of the wedding reception it provides something fun and creative for your guests to do. Of course the later it gets the funnier the images become...not that alcohol has anything to do with that. People like to express their alter egos when they think no one is watching...well no one except the camera. ;-) Inevitably these images portray the atmosphere and celebration of the wedding day! They are hilarious, outrageous, cute, sometimes sentimental and other times X-rated. LOL! These are the photos that people ask to see right away! Why? Because they want to see themselves and their funny side on display. People like to laugh at themselves...and even more so at other people!

It's always nice to get a little press. It's especially nice when I get to share the spotlight with some of my own amazing clients! This month two of my bridal couples made print in two separate Jacksonville Magazine publications. You can see Alisa and Brandon George in Jacksonville Magazine's BRIDE edition. And you can see April and Kellen Jordan in Jacksonville Magazine's August issue. You may recall seeing Cameron and Mike Bruce back in the April issue. It is always a nice surprise for these hometown couples when their friends and families recognize them in magazines.

These guys have teamed up to come to the rescue of those in need of business clarity. I can't imagine 2 more perfect people to lead you down the path of personal goal exploration, accurate goal identification and ultimately business goal clarity. I can't even express my anticipation and gratitude for the opportunity of being a participant in their official launch workshop.

It is truly my honor to be a part of this PPA (Professional Photographers of America) See The Difference campaign. I have heard so many disheartening stories from Brides who wish that they had followed their gut instinct when it came to choosing their wedding photographer...even when their wallet may have slightly disagreed. I am certainly not one to influence or persuade people to make a choice that they are uncomfortable with. That said, I do encourage Brides to think long term. The expense of a wedding is one of the biggest price tags of many couples lives...consider the items that stay with you forever. It's not the lobster and filet mignon dinner or the exclusivity of the over the top venue...it's the wedding photography. I encourage Brides to truly contemplate how important this piece of the wedding puzzle is to you? If it doesn't rank at the top of your list...fair enough...splurge on the catering and the venue or better yet the honeymoon! But if it does rank at the top of your priority list...please don't let it fall by the wayside! Do your research and find the perfect photographer for you. This is one investment that I don't think too many people regret. In fact, the only regrets that I hear of are the Brides who let this priority fall short. It breaks my heart when that happens. Your wedding photographer truly does make a difference.

I am completely stoked to meet many of you there! I love putting a face to a name. You may have seen an excerpt of my "Be Invested In Your Clients" approach in last months PPA magazine. I am going to share with y'all the full version of that mentality and why there is simply no other acceptable option for me.

Tuesday I had the pleasure of welcoming my friend, Doug Gordon, to Jacksonville. Doug is such a cool guy! If you have ever had the privilege of seeing Doug in action at Imaging USA or WPPI then you know what an incredible and amped up presentation he gives. He is in a league all his own. He ROCKS the house! He has some of the most impressive strategies for turning your posing struggles into easy, real, emotion evoking images. I know, at some point, we have all been frustrated when it comes to creating fresh, innovative poses while we are "in the moment." Doug is the master at showing you (with actual live models) how to overcome shooting the same old boring poses while creating dramatic personalized pieces for your clients.

You know how you are blazing through life and things just seem normal and almost boring at times? There have been several years of my life that have fallen into that category...certainly not bad but just not exciting. Incredibly my life has taken a different path most notably in the last year. The timing could not have been better for my personal spirit. I am a realist and in no way do I allow myself to become caught up in any unrealistic expectations or fleeting notoriety. It's almost like the lottery...I have played since I was eighteen and I truly believe that one day I will hold a winning ticket in my hand but at the same time I don't let that dream (or better stated that fantasy) get in the way of me accomplishing my everyday responsibilities. The same goes for my work. I put every ounce of myself into my work and hold on to that aspiration of one day being noticed for my contribution to the industry.

When I decided to run the Pay It Forward contest I was so excited about who I might have the chance to meet in Vegas. It was so random and who knew who would actually win and what their story would be. As if it wasn't great enough to meet so many new people at WPPI it was even more amazing to have one on one time with these beautiful ladies! We chatted and shared many laughs...it truly is amazing how far apart we can be but how close the internet makes us. Wendy (CA), Grace (Malaysia) and Loni (South Dakota)...it was awesome to meet each of you ladies and learn a little something about you. I do hope that we will stay in touch over time and that we will get another opportunity to catch up again at WPPI 2011.
