Shannon and Sheila have been best friends forever! They are funny, genuine, silly, honest and just a riot to be around. Shannon wanted Shelia to be our stand in model when it came time for the shooting portion of the workshop. Sheila was stressed over what to wear…I couldn’t figure out why because everything she had was stylish and fresh. These two women remind me of Thelma and Louise with their crazy road trips and spontaneity. I just adore the pair of them!

{Walk The Shot} And Her Best Friend
October 20, 2010{Walk The Shot} Shannon Marie Phillips-Long
October 9, 2010I am in complete awe of my next {Walk The Shot} attendee. Not only is she as sweet as a homemade apple crumble pie but she is one of the most inspiring women I have had the pleasure of meeting. Shannon is from Mississippi…so how have we met you ask? Well, that’s where part of the story starts. Shannon sent me a request to book a workshop and we did just that. Meanwhile, we stayed in touch. She read the announcement that I would be speaking at The School of Photography in Grand Rapids and she sent me a note to say that she would see me there! She and her best friend were going to take a road trip to MI. Gosh! I only wish I was that spontaneous and carefree. The conversation that we had after the conference was simply amazing! Shannon is a true free spirit. A Southern Belle. An amazing best friend. An incredible wife. An all around inspiring person. I literally can not wait to spend a day with her!
{Walk The Shot} Haley’s Perspective
August 26, 2010This month I have had the pleasure of hosting two {Walk The Shot} workshops. I absolutely love getting to know these women and then being able to follow their success stories. As women, I think we all need a cheerleader in our corner and I am definitely cheering for Haley and ALL of my {Walk The Shot} gals!!!
{Walk The Shot} Better Yet, Sweat It Out!
August 18, 2010Yesterday I had the distinct pleasure of getting to know Haley from Texas. She is not only beautiful but she is smart! Haley doubts that photography will become a full time career replacement for her but what she knows for sure is that she loves it and wants to continue to sharpen her abilities. Most of Haley’s portrait work is with children and families so we scheduled her shooting time with two adorable, big blue-eyed kiddos. She specifically said that a “squirmy subject” would probably help her learn the most. Jaden and Jacob were happy to oblige her request. ;-)
