If there is one thing that I have decided that I must improve at, it is social networking! I swear, I am so comfortable in my own home that I rarely choose to leave. I received an invitation to attend an event hosted by The Knot…for those of you hiding under a rock…The Knot is the worlds largest wedding community. It was a fabulous event and I was quite happy that I dragged my happy little self out today!
I met several new people in the wedding industry and made a genuine attempt at “social networking.” It was nice…refreshing…at least the people that I had the opportunity to speak with. It is always interesting to hear other people perspectives of the wedding industry…quite enlightening, actually.
I must give props to the team at The Knot because they put on a fabulous luncheon at Epping Forest. Ya’ll know how much I love to eat and the food was divine and the dessert…sinful! I wish that I had had my camera with me! I was fortunate enough to be designated the winner of my table’s exquisite centerpiece, designed by Rose of Sharon. Actually, a gentleman seated to my left was the real winner because his birthday is tomorrow and mine isn’t until the 20th but he was so kind to insist that I take the bouquet home…what a nice guy!
On the way out, we were handed fabulous loot bags! Filled with everything from Peterbrooke chocolate covered popcorn to cookies, candy, chap stick, teas, coffee, an oversized mug and of course the latest edition of The Knot! My final thoughts…glad that I talked myself into attending today! I really enjoyed the event as well as meeting several wonderful vendors!
Sounds very cool, Dawn! You never know what those things are going to be like so I’m glad it turned out to be such a great event for you. That centerpiece is stunning, too!
Sounds like an exciting day! I’m so glad you went, it definately sounds like it was worth it. And congrats on winning the beautiful centerpiece! It will look lovely on your dinner table Thursday night for Nanny to enjoy too!
Hi Dawn,
Glad you had a great time. We enjoyed putting all together for you. It was definitely a good day for networking. I would love to get copies of the photos for my own portfolio and to use on my blog… Would that be possible?
Thanks,
Karry Castillo
