If there are sufficient words in the English language to describe the bonds that I share with my grandmothers, I haven’t yet discovered them. I am filthy rich in regards to the relationships that I have in my life! At 32 years old I still have 3 young at heart grandmothers whom I love with every ounce of fiber in my being. All 3 in different ways but certainly not one more than the other. They are such unique and inspiring women…each in their own right!
There’s my Nanny who has always been my rock, my person, my Christina (for all of you Grey’s fans). She and I have an unspoken bond that is beyond explanation. I respect her, admire her and love her to the depths of my soul! She is the mother of six , grandmother of sixteen and great grandmother of eight. She is beautiful, thoughtful and dedicated.
My Granny is, without a doubt, the sweetest spirit that you would ever have the pleasure of knowing in your life! She is the person whom has prayed for me, over me and with me since the day that I was born. She is an extraordinary woman of faith. She is absolutely precious and I love her more than I am capable of adequately expressing.
And last but certainly not least, there’s my MawMaw. She is a free spirit. A vivacious, eccentric ball of fun! She has a witty sense of humor and will have you laughing in no time. She is strong, independent and outspoken. I have always admired the fact that she is not afraid to speak her mind. She is well traveled, intelligent and full of life! She welcomed me into her heart and family 30 years ago and I couldn’t imagine my life without her. She is truly a priceless treasure to me!
As I said, I am blessed beyond words to have these 3 amazing women in my life and I, in no way, take any of them for granted. I am loved and I love back with all of my heart and soul!
Some fun shots from our family day (with Nanny and Granny) at the park this past Sunday. I just wish that I could have had all 3 of my ladies with me.
Well said and so true!! You are VERY lucky to have them all still with you. I’d give anything in this world to have My Nana for just one more day!! The pictures are beautiful, as always!! I know you make them so proud. I always knew you would do something great :) Love & miss you tons!!
