I got a new fan on my Facebook Fan page and as always, I am stoked when that happens! It’s like getting an unexpected gift. This particular fan started commenting on many of my posts with something kind and positive to say each time and then the e-mail came. It was something to the effect of “my best friend works for one of the guys that you recently had a session with and I found you through her and love your work. I would like to schedule a session for me and my family.” That is the powerful mass outreach that social networking provides. Funny how that works.
I met Sheila and her sweet family on Sunday. I immediately hugged her neck because I felt like I knew her already…another one of those great things about social networking…it allows you to get to know a person at your leisure and over a series of comments and conversations that take place. It’s the ice breaker and by the time that you do finally meet face to face you are already “old friends” or so it feels. I love that! Sheila and I chatted for a bit…she had some concerns about whether her little guy would cooperate completely or not. I had to remind her that I am a Mom of two boys myself…no worries! I got this. ;-)
This little fella, Bryson, had the cutest outfits and I think that he could grace the pages of Baby GAP with no problem! As a family, The Harran’s were cheerful and playful. In fact, they even convinced me to sing “If you’re happy and you know it” to Bryson. I warned them that it wouldn’t be pretty! But they were cool with that! We got Bryson to smile and that’s what mattered the most. Funny how that works. I am just glad that nobody had a video camera! That would have been blackmail at it’s finest. Sheila, I hope that you enjoy the sneak peeks of your sweet family and that they make you proud! It was a pleasure to meet you face to face although I already considered you my friend.
