As a photographer, of course I take entirely too many pictures of my children. The problem is…I am getting worse about letting my own kids “live in my computer” while I bring my clients to life in print. In all honesty I hadn’t even had a real family portrait taken since Ayden was born. Sad, I know. With all of that in mind I asked my good friend Britt Anderson to photograph my family on a recent visit to Savannah. The River Street backdrops were exactly what I had in mind. Britt, I truly can’t thank you enough for bringing my family to life for print.
Looking at these images makes me incredibly emotional. Mainly because in this life, regardless of sex, race, religion, financial status, etc. as human beings we all encounter seasons of elation, joy, grief, heartbreak, success, failure, sadness, happiness, hurt and love. Of all those things love is what holds the most value. Love is what stands the test of time. Love is what comforts us in our darkest hour. Love is what every man, woman and child deserves. Love is what we all hold closest to our hearts. Love is what pulls us through our heartache. Love is a universal language. Love is a truth that no one can take away. Love endures. Love heals. Love is the greatest gift we give and the greatest gift we receive. When I look at these images, love, in all of its vast meaning floods my heart and brings tears of joy to my eyes. Love makes all things good even better and love makes all things bad worth enduring. The love in these images makes me proud.
