Growing up I loved to hear my Nanny tell me about the nights I would cry for hours on end and nothing my Mom would do seemed to soothe me. Nanny would start to feel sorry for Momma and wanted to let her get some rest so after a while she’d come in and say “let me have her.” Of course two minutes later I would be fast asleep! Nothing like my Nanny’s touch. As a young girl I spent countless nights at my Nanny’s house. In fact, that’s where my love for TV news magazines like 20/20 and Dateline began. It was like Friday date night with my Nanny and Papa. I have so many memories but one in particular is close to my heart and will forever be a date that I share with them and that is our Anniversary. I married my husband on the date of my Grandparents 50th wedding anniversary…June 17, 2000. So this year Jeff and I celebrated 10 years and they celebrated 60! Isn’t that incredible? Certainly something to aspire too.

My Nanny and Papa
December 13, 2010My Boys
November 30, 2010My boys never want to be in front of my camera. In fact, when Austin approaches me with “Mom, do you need a good picture of me?” I know right away that he wants something! For some reason on our recent trip to Savannah both of the boys were eerily cooperative…all weekend! Austin really loved Savannah and he would find certain spots that he liked and say “this would be a perfect place Mom.” I think because he was participating in the scene selection he enjoyed the process a little more. He was even learning to find the light. Ayden, he was just obsessed with the salt water taffy so as long as that bag was around he wore a smile on his face. : )
Not So Typical Family Portraits
November 26, 2010Lisa and I share a similar story to Stacy and me. We were friends in school back in the day. Lisa said that she just happen to run across my website one day and decided to follow my work. When I received her request to schedule a session I was touched when she said that she didn’t want the “typical family portrait” but rather she wanted a portrayal of personalities and shared love and she thought I would be the person to capture that for her. Lisa, I truly hope that I was able to meet your expectations.
From Our Table To Yours
November 25, 2010On this day I hope that you were all surrounded by the ones you love. I hope that your bellies are as full as mine. ;-) I hope that you ate more dessert than you should have. I hope that you hugged your children extra today. I hope that you smiled often and laughed even more. I hope that you slept in late or can turn in early. I hope that you helped do the dishes for whoever cooked your supper…or I hope that if you cooked supper someone did your dishes for you. I hope that you danced in your kitchen. I hope that you loved a little deeper today. I hope that you thanked the Lord for the food on your table. I hope that you told someone you loved them today. I hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!
