This announcement comes with HUGE anticipation on my part. Y’all know how much I enjoy being the JAX SMUG Leader. I could not be more pleased with the growth of our group over the last several months. We have built a solid foundation and I continue to see incredible things happening within this community!

Florida SMUGapalooza!
June 16, 2010Launching A Brand New SMUG
June 8, 2010I have traveled more over the last twelve months than I have in my entire life. Then again, that’s not saying a whole lot for this happy homebody. I avoid going out unless I absolutely have too. It’s certainly not a bad thing that I love the comfort of home…especially when it is spic-n-span clean! Ah, that is on my list of top ten favorite things.
Speed Dating at JAX SMUG
May 27, 2010I have these crazy ideas jog through my mind around 2:00 am while I am trying to turn my brain off for the day! Recently the idea of speed dating occurred to me as a possibility for a SMUG meeting theme. I loved the idea but struggled with exactly how I would set it up. I drew out countless scenarios of 2-person stations…much like actual speed dating…but I just couldn’t work out the logistics. In the end I decided to have an open circle forum with all members seated in a circle facing each other. One of my main goals as JAX SMUG leader is to allow each and every member an equal voice. This is not always easy when you have such a wide variety of experience levels, interests and goals but those things aside we all have something to contribute to others in our own unique way.
Snakes and SMUG
April 30, 2010Unlike last month, the weather was on our side for April’s JAX SMUG meeting. I picked Jeff Jochum up from the airport and to introduce him to one of our local monthly shoot outs we headed over to meet Faythe Mesic and the models at Evergreen Cemetery. As strange as it sounds…what an incredible place to shoot! The buildings and textures available were just inspiring. I wish that we could have stayed longer to shoot a few other models but I was thrilled with these few frames that I was able to capture. This months them was “7 Sins” and it was quite eccentric and exciting! There were snakes, birds, alligators, a wolf…crazy, huh?
