I rented a car and drove in the yucky rain from Grand Rapids into Auburn Hills. I struggled to find a decent radio station while on the road…not sure if it was bad luck or bad MI radio stations but geez! Can’t a girl just hear some Ke$ha or Pink while on a solo drive?

The Launch Of Detroit SMUG
September 9, 2010JAX SMUG Back To Class
August 25, 2010It’s that time again…early mornings, school buses, lunch boxes and back packs. Oh my! Summer is almost over and school is back in session. Now, we all know how awesome our kids look each year in those fabulous school pictures…NOT! So, our local Smuggers and their mini smuggies joined me here at my home last night for JAX SMUG Back To Class. My first mistake was letting the kiddos see the treat table prior to the photo session. Duh Dawn! What kid is going to forget that sight? After all, my own boys had been begging for treats since Monday night. They all had candy on their mind and couldn’t wait to fill their little goody bags full of sugary sweetness. Your welcome parents. ;-)
JAX SMUG Smile Swap
August 3, 2010Last night we met at the Oakleaf Town Center for our JAX SMUG Smile Swap. Unfortunately the Florida afternoon thunderstorms followed us. I darted into the Peterbrooke Chocolatier and the super sweet ladies welcomed us in out of the rain and even allowed us to shoot inside the store. Ladies, if you happen to read this…thanks again! You really saved the day. Shortly following the rain storm we were graced by a gorgeous full rainbow.
SMUGapalooza in Jacksonville
July 3, 2010I have always loved to host parties and events. I thrive on the stress of expectation and preparation. It’s like I am forever in a race against myself and no matter how early I start I am always pressed for time right up to through the very last second. Last night was no different. I finished just in the nick of time! As guests began to arrive I greeted them and then quicky moved on to preparing the buffett for supper. As I called everyone to come and fix a plate I said to myself as well as out loud “I just know something is missing.” Unfortunately I never could never put my finger on what was left out…that was until this afternoon as we packed the cooler to head to the beach. It dawned on me…THE BAKED BEANS! Sure ’nuff…that was what I was missing last night. All four pounds were still in the oven. Prepared but never served. Oh well. At least I remembered to turn the oven off.
