I have always loved to host parties and events. I thrive on the stress of expectation and preparation. It’s like I am forever in a race against myself and no matter how early I start, I am always pressed for time right up to through the very last second. Last night was no different. I finished just in the nick of time! As guests began to arrive I greeted them and then quicky moved on to preparing the buffet for supper. As I called everyone to come and fix a plate I said to myself as well as out loud “I just know something is missing.” Unfortunately I never could put my finger on what was left out…that was until this afternoon as we packed the cooler to head down to the beach house. It dawned on me…the baked beans! Sure ’nuff…that was what I was missing last night. All four pounds were still in the oven. Prepared but never served. Oh well. At least I remembered to turn the oven off. ;-)
The fabulous peeps at Smug Mug sponsored a print competition for the group last night and a new member won the prize! That was a pretty nice welcome. His print was one of a local St. Augustine musician. In fact, a few of our members actually recognized the gentleman in the photograph. Pretty cool. Congrats again to Brian! And a warm welcome to each of our new JAX SMUGGERS. Hope y’all will continue to join us in the months to come.
The highlight of the night was the AMAZING entertainment by The Corbitt Brothers. I have raved and raved about them but it takes people actually hearing them with their own ears to “get it.” They are out of this world! A premiere example of refined raw talent. No video or CD does them justice. You need to see them live! No doubt that all of JAX SMUG loved them! The support for the boys was music to my ears. My personal thanks to Issac, Newsome and Christian. I love you all and could not possibly be more proud. Thank you!!!
Enjoy the show…
It looks like the event was a ton of fun. I’m so sorry I couldn’t make it.

This looks like a really fun night!
