Is there anything more refreshing than a sweet, juicy fresh picked Florida Orange? Well, this past Sunday we got our tummies full of all the oranges we could eat. We took out precious neighbors over to a long time friend of our family, The Edmonds, to pick oranges. Each year their grove produces thousands of oranges and they are so kind to let us pick until our heart is content. Something about picking your own orange makes it taste better…ha! There are several varieties of oranges…my personal favorite being the navel orange. There are navels, tangelos, tangerines and plenty of grapefruit as well. The kids had a blast picking their own baskets full of oranges and each finding their “prize orange.” I do believe that Victoria secured the largest orange in the grove. She carried it around with her as if it was a pet for the rest of the day and night. Here’s a look at her prize…
Later that evening, we ate oranges, peeled and cut oranges and squeezed a couple gallons of fresh orange juice. As a matter of fact I am drinking a glass as I write this blog. I sure do wish I could share! Yummy!
