Saturday night I headed out with my best friend of 20 years…OMGosh…has it seriously been that long…in celebration of her daughters (my God-Daughter) 14th birthday! Holy cow, it’s hard to believe that we used to be this same age. We were though and we had a lot of memorable times! Lorie and I have been through thick and thin together! We always knew that we would be lifetime friends but we surely didn’t know what life had in store for us to support each other through. Looking back it amazes me how far we’ve come and how much we have both accomplished in our lives. We have helped each other through difficult times and we have celebrated with each other in times of achievement. Lorie has especially been one to support me in ever endeavor that I have taken on. She has been a constant source of inspiration and she always acknowledges my growth in my business and personal life. I love her very much and I couldn’t have picked a more loyal and authentic best friend if I had tried.
So, back to our Diva who just turned 14…whew…that really is hard to say! Her and her “besties” had cake and ice cream at the house and then we all loaded up in the “mom mobile” (a.k.a. Lorie’s van) and headed off to the mall for a scavenger hunt. The girls had an absolute blast! I thought that I might have to “get loud” a few times with some of the mall employees. I know that none of you can imagine me “getting loud” ha! ha! It was ridiculous how much flack we took for having a camera at the mall to document the girls hunt. It was totally absurd!!! I must however give props to one AMAZING mall employee, Angela, at Build-A-Bear Workshop…she was AWESOME! She was so kind to the girls and she made the trip worth wild just being in her store and coincidentally, that was the only store that Cierra did not make a purchase in. However, I think all of the girls will go back and build their own bear just to show appreciation for her kindness. With her cooperation we got some incredible shots and she even played along with the girls and let them “stuff” the cotton machines and wear the Build-A-Bear aprons and everything. She was fantastic! Thank you again for being such a terrific sport!!!
We had a few “unknown willing sports” throughout the mall who participated in some candid shots too. Thanks y’all! Cierra has turned into a beautiful young woman and it’s hard to believe that she is so grown. She will always have a very special place in my heart! And it is looking like she will be the only “daughter” that I will ever have the privilege of having in my life! : ) I love you sweetheart and I hope that this birthday was one to remember…even if you had to smile for one million pictures!
