I remember hearing my Granny tell guests to “come in a sit a spell” when I was younger. I always liked that phrase. As someone who values supper table and living room conversations that saying makes me think about gathering with people that I love.
As I contemplated how I would design my layout at the World Golf Village Bridal Fantasy that exact expression came to mind. I envisioned a comfy, cozy, welcoming space. I wanted people to “come in and sit a spell.” Bridal shows are interesting, overwhelming and unpredictable. You never know who’s Brides are going to walk through the door. I know that I am not cut out to be the photographer for all Brides. Likewise, I know that not all Brides are cut out to be DM Brides. What I know for sure is that “DM Brides” are of a certain breed. They are women who appreciate comfortability and enjoy conversation. They are women who are able to “let go” once they trust someone to do a job. They are women who want to look absolutely amazing on their wedding day while still staying true to their genuine selves. They are women who truly treasure photographs that tell the story of their lives. They are women who I could welcome to my supper table and never lack for something to chat about. They are beautiful, self assured, strong willed and totally in love. When I see them…I have a gut instinct that tells me they are “my Bride.”
I am looking forward to cultivating relationships with the newest group of DM Brides. I can’t wait to experience their joy. Learn about their love stories. Grow together and ultimately share the most incredible day of their lives. This is what drives me! I love my Brides and I treasure each individual journey that I take with them. Each of them are like a new gift on Christmas morning. I can not wait to unwrap them and discover their uniqueness. I am pretty confident that I shared this cozy couch with a couple of future DM Brides. Here’s to a wonderful 2011 wedding season!
