My son has always asked me “Mom, if we ever win the lottery will you buy a Lamborghini?” My reply has always been “You mean when we win the lottery?” ;-) Although it is an incredible sports car it just wouldn’t be practical for me. I am a little more of the SUV type. All that said, when Tim picked me up…guess what I was escorted in? Yep…a bad to the bone Lamborghini. Of course I had to take a few shots to prove to my son that I wasn’t fibbing. And talk about turning heads on the street…this piece of machinery stops people dead in their tracks! It was a cool experience. Thanks Tim!
I was so pumped to speak at The School Of Photography! It’s always a bit of a challenge when you aren’t sure how you will be “received.” You just roll with the punches and hope for the best! Honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better crowd. The people of Grand Rapids welcomed me with open arms and it was a pleasure to spend a few hours with all of them! The team at SOP did a fantastic job arranging this event for everyone to enjoy…for FREE! What an incredible offer they are making to their local photography community on a monthly basis. There have been and will continue to be some great speakers coming through! It was an honor for me to be one of them. *A very special thank you to Brandi for your amazing diligence and support!
We gathered at Peppino’s across the street for a little after party hosted by SOP. Awesome pizza and to die for bread sticks!!! This is where you get to know people in small group conversations. I treasure those opportunities! It was there that I got to chat with Tim’s wife, Dee. I am always interested…okay nosy…about people’s stories. Tim and Dee (owners of SOP) were no exception. They are such a power couple and I am not just referencing financial status. It reaches far beyond that! They work together cohesively as a team. They are proud parents of 4 children whom they both clearly adore and go the extra mile for. They have a strong marriage and a beautiful faith! These things were obvious from the minute that I shared space with the two of them. One thing, in particular, that I admire (and Tim I hope you don’t mind me mentioning) is that he refers to Dee as beautiful…”Hello beautiful.” What woman doesn’t want her hubby to show his adoration for her no matter who is around? There’s something to be said about men who are unafraid to display that affection for their brides. Although they have separate ventures that they devote their time too they “have each others back” and I love that about them! It was truly my honor to be asked to guest speak for y’all at SOP! Many thanks to you both. XOXO
Blog readers…check out Dee’s inspirational project called Red Letter Words. What an uplifting, unique little boutique. Gorgeous works of art for your family rooms, offices or just about anywhere! Something about the quotes and the simple yet bold assembly makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Dee, I wish you infinite success! You have a genuine soft spirit about you that I appreciate. Tim, I wish you an abundance of cow tongue tacos! Stay tuned for further details on that…
