Do you ever wonder what people think about the first impression that you leave on them? Or maybe you are the type that doesn’t give it a second thought? Personally, I like to know because it makes me view myself from other peoples perspective. Granted I hope their impression of me is a good one but either way…I want to know.
Recently, I participated in a Bridal Show and I had a sweet lady approach me and say “You probably don’t remember me but I helped you pack up the left over cake at Mallory’s wedding.” Yep! I knew exactly who she was at that moment. And then I knew what her impression of me was, “that girl must love some cake!” LOL! Don’t hate on me because I am unafraid to ask for some wedding cake! Y’all better learn to speak up for yourselves so that you can enjoy some wedding cake too! ;-) Admittedly I had several boxes of cake from Mal’s wedding because her sweet Momma is the Publix bakery manager and her cake was like a bazillion layers tall. There was an abundance. One of the golf cart guys even drove me and my boxes of cake to my car that night. Still one of my favorite weddings to date!
Last week I spoke at The School Of Photography and Melissa, a sweet gal that I had meet at Imaging USA came to hear me speak… which was a total honor! Anyhow, at the after party as we were chatting (and I was stuffing my face with pizza and bread-sticks) she said, “I have to tell you a funny story. When I told my husband that I was coming to Grand Rapids to hear you speak he asked me who you were. I told him “She was the girl who sat next to you at dinner in Nashville.” He replied, “Oh yeah! She was that skinny girl who scoffed down every bite of that huge steak!” I laughed out loud so hard and have probably shared that story 10 times since last week. And I have to tell you that was an incredible ribeye! No shame in my game. Oh, how certain people have discovered a direct path to my heart. ;-) Thanks for that memory Mr. Gregersen.
So, as you can see…there seems to be a running theme about the way people remember me. I used to think it was my hair but I am now coming to realize that it is my insatiable appreciation for good food that people remember most about me. I’m not sure if that is a good thing but I’ll take it. The stories make me laugh. My husband says I am embarrassing but what does he know? He should be proud to be married to the skinny girl who scoffs down a hearty ribeye. LOL!
That’s all folks. Happy Friday to ya!!!
*Special thanks to my friend Norman Al for the photo of me and my space at the bridal show.

It’s easy. They remember, look it’s the “hot photographer”. =)
When I met you at WPPI food was not the vicinity, but I do remember a blog post about some or your Grandma’s fried chicken!!!! :) YUM-E!
This is hilarious. And atleast you are skinny even though you like to eat! No shame in loving food.
LOL, that’s a great story and I don’t think that’s a bad way to be remembered! :) At least you enjoy yourself!!!
That’s why I love you and why you hold the R.A.P title……{RIDICULASLY AWESOME PHOTOGRAPHER} LOL…
